What seasonal weather can I expect on my visit to New England?

New England has four distinct seasons and with each some rain or snow does fall. Winter is cold, especially in the mountains, but more temperate along the coastlines. Obviously warm clothing should be packed. Spring can have wide temperature swings. Usually daytime tempertaures range from 50 to 75 degrees, but upper 80s as well as freezing temperatures can be experienced. So for springtime travel pack for some cold weather, as well as a pair of shorts. Summer is warm to hot. However, if you are going to be in the mountains, late nights and early mornings can have a chill so include a sweatshirt or jacket in your suitcase. Going out on to the ocean, or even relaxing seaside with an onshore breeze, can be also be chilly.Autumn and foliage season has temperature swings similar to spring. To enjoy leaf peeping be prepared for early morning frosts and even a day or two of summer-like weather.
