When Vrest Orton opened The Vermont Country Store more than 60 years ago, a storekeeper was a friend, merchandise was useful, worked, and made sense, and a country store was stocked to the rafters with hard-to-find goods. Come experience the place where that’s all still true: The Orton family tradition is carried on today by Lyman Orton and his sons Cabot, Gardner, and Eliot – 7th and 8th generation Vermonters, 3rd & 4th generation storekeepers. Both stores are open daily, 9-5:30.

Vermont Maple Outlet is a country store owned and operated by the Marsh family in the true Vermont tradition. Our family has been producing award winning pure Vermont maple syrup for 100 years and we are now in our 7th generation. We also make our own delicious pure maple candy, maple cream & maple sugar right here in our candy kitchen. At our country store, now in its 20th year, you will also find a large selection of Vermont products, handmade crafts & clothing. Try the "BEST" maple creemees ever! (May-October) Our on-site sugarhouse is always open so if you are in the area drop by for a self-guided tour and get a FREE taste of our maple syrup. Or you can order our award winning maple syrup and maple products via our catalog or website.
