Originally built in the early 1800's, the Shelter Harbor Inn has been transformed into a comfortable, unpretentious country inn where the emphasis is on relaxation, good food and a warm, friendly atmosphere. The inn is open year round and is located near one of the most beautiful sections of the Rhode Island Shoreline. Our private beach in Weekapaug stretches for two miles along the shores of Quonochontaug Pond and the ocean. The inn has twenty-four guest rooms, each with a private bath and charming furnishings and modern conveniences. Several rooms have working fireplaces and private decks, and all rooms have access to a third floor deck and hot tub with a panoramic view of Block Island. Elegant country dining is a source of pride here at the inn. Each day our chef prepares creative American cuisine using only the freshest of ingredients and seafood from local waters.
