Newport Mansions 20th Annual Wine & Food Festival

The annual Newport Mansions Wine and Food Festival welcomes all to a culinary weekend of education, tastings, and industry conversation. Meet with regional vendors, and taste the flavors of Newport and The Classic Coast. The 2024 Newport Mansions Wine and Food Festival in Newport welcomed 21 expert-led seminars, a celebration of local chefs, a Sunday Jazz brunch at Rosecliff and a conversation with world-renowned French Chef Jacques Pépin and Claudine Pépin. The Newport International Boat Show (NIBS), one of the largest and most prestigious boat shows in the country, spans over fifteen acres with 6 connecting show sites within historic downtown Newport, Rhode Island. British Motorcars in Bristol, RI

On June 6th & 7th the BMCNE will kick off its Annual British Motorcars in Bristol car show that includes a scenic tour around Southern New England, hosting a block party in downtown Bristol, and a public Car Show in an effort to raise money for local charities through car show registrations, vendor booths, area sales, and sponsorships. The events are FREE for visitors. Bring your family and friends for an entertaining day of historic British cars, vendors and the beautiful sites of Narragansett Bay. There will be a British Car Corral, British Marketplace & Auto Jumble, and Food & Beverage Concessions are all open.

Audrain Newport Concours & Motor Week

Given it’s rich motoring history, Newport is the premiere destination for a Concours & Motor Week. Beautiful, historic mansions and the seemingly endless Atlantic Ocean provide the most elegant of backdrops. Audrain’s Newport Concours & Motor Week will be a celebration of the automobile, uniting enthusiasts from around the world. Newport’s extensive automotive history dates back as early as the Gilded Age. The first American car race, the Vanderbilt Cup, took place in this historic area. Witness over 150 cars from various decades across various classes all competing for the coveted Best of Show trophy. Concession stands will be available for food and drink. VIP admission gives access starting at 6:30 am with Coffee at the Concours and continues throughout the day with access to the VIP tent with food and drink served all day.

Charity Events

Newport Polo Rotary Charity Match

It’s that time of year again. Join the Rotary Club of Newport on Saturday, May 31 at 5 pm, for the start of the summer polo season with the annual charity polo match to support the club’s scholarship fund and charitable initiatives, hosted by the Newport Polo Club. This is an annual fixture at the start of the season for the past 34 years, and the handiwork of two unlikely collaborators. The gates open at 3 pm. Food trucks and a cash bar will be available on the polo grounds. The match will also feature an Art Fair. Ready your picnic spread to join the action as top players compete in a classic 6-chukker showdown. Rain date is Sunday, July 13 at 5 pm.

The Newport Folk Festival, founded by George Wein in 1959, takes place on the grounds at Fort Adams State Park and features four stages of world class musicians, food, vendors and a number of exhibits. Fort Adams is located at 90 Fort Adams Drive, Newport, RI. One of the park system’s national treasures, Fort Adams is situated at the mouth of Newport Harbor with panoramic views of the Newport Bridge and the East Passage. The festival runs rain or shine. 2025 Public Onsale begins Wednesday, February 5th at 1:00 PM EST.

Come see the best short films in Providence! This year's Providence 48 Hour Film Project includes dozens of films in amazing genres such as comedy, drama, and even martial arts! All the films were made on the same weekend by local filmmakers. Audiences should stick around to vote for their best film, and talk with the filmmakers at the Q+A. Single and multi passes are availble on our website. Each night will have two screening blocks with up to twelve films each.

Hattem will draw on his latest book, The Memory of ’76: The Revolution in American History, to discuss Americans’ uniquely emotional connection to the memory of the Revolution and its central role in American life as a national “origin myth.” He will also explore how Americans have constantly revised the meaning of the Revolution in ways that have always been shaped by the times.

Music at Sunset: Concert Series 2025

Spread out the picnic, soak up the warmth of the summer sun over Narragansett Bay, and enjoy a variety of musical performances by local musicians. Wednesday nights at Blithewold are the perfect way to enjoy summer with friends and family! Guests are encouraged to bring picnic dinners and chairs or blankets. We have 33 acres of gardens and grounds, including a 10-acre lawn, where you can enjoy the music and gorgeous views over the bay. Preregistration is required! Walk-ins will not be accepted. The day before the concert you will receive a printout. Please print it and place it in the windshield of your car. It will be checked in when you arrive. FirstWorks Summer Beats Concerts: Khumariyaan

The third concert of this year’s Summer Beats global journey transports audiences to the ancient crossroads through the Khyber Pass with an electrifying performance by Pakistan’s Khumariyaan. With its propulsive, furious sound, Khumariyaan is celebrated for blending traditional folk music with modern styles. The band’s name translates in Pashto as “the state of musical intoxication,” which captures the essence of this hyper-folk jam band.

The 12th annual 10 Miler, benefiting the Fort Adams Trust and the Boys and Girls Club of Newport County returns at 7:30 a.m. on June 1, 2025. The course prominently features Newport’s scenic coastal views and ends with a truly unique finish as participants enter Fort Adams through the north gate and finish on the parade field.

Newport Pell Bridge Run

29th Annual Newport Flower Show

The 2025 Newport Flower Show, themed "A Floral Fair," will shine at Rosecliff from June 20-22, 2025, celebrating two enchanting and vibrant themes. Inside the elegant rooms of Rosecliff, guests will be transported back to the Gilded Age, honoring the legacy of Theresa Fair Oelrichs, the mansion’s original owner. Exhibitors in Floral Design and Botanical Arts will draw inspiration from her 1913 fairy tale-themed dinner, creating captivating displays of imagination and elegance. Adding a fun twist, the first floor will also bloom with playful arrangements reminiscent of a cheerful summer county fair. Tickets for daytime admission and events will be available to Preservation Society members starting Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Tickets will be available to the general public starting Friday, April 4, 2025.

International Tennis Hall of Fame Open

Professional tennis will return to the Newport in 2025 as the International Tennis Hall of Fame (ITHF) today announced a revamped Hall of Fame Open, including ATP Challenger 125 and WTA 125 level tournaments. The Hall of Fame Open will become just the second combined men’s and women’s 125 level event in the United States. It will be the only grass court stop on the Hologic WTA Tour outside of Europe, and the first women’s professional tournament at the ITHF since the Virginia Slims of Newport concluded in 1990. Equal prize money will be awarded to both the men’s and women’s draws. Get up close to the pros and enjoy great seats in the shade. Every tennis Hall of Fame Open ticket comes with one free admission to the International Tennis Hall of Fame Museum.
