Fairy Garden Days at the Roger Williams Park Botanical Center - Providence, RI

Fairy Garden Days 2017 will feature more than 100 handmade homes. Guests may go on a scavenger hunt in four greenhouses, play games in the Gnome Village, join adventures in the Pixie Paradise Campground, and watch daily lady bug releases. Frenchy’s Popcorn Food Truck will provide snacks. Visitors are encouraged to dress as fairy folk.

Wetlands Exploration with Audubon - Bristol, RI

Take a journey to the wetlands with Audubon and discover just how important this habitat is. We will explore the water with nets and basins, and then use magnifying glasses and guide books to identify what we find. Wear clothes that can get dirty. Adults must accompany children. Program is weather dependent. For ages 4 and older.

Ice Cream and Lightning Bugs - Exeter, RI

Join Audubon at Fisherville Brook Wildlife Refuge and learn all about lightning bugs. Start the evening by making ice cream sundaes and learning about what makes these insects so special. Then head out for a guided hike. We may also spot a resident beaver along the way. This program is fun for the whole family. Please bring a flashlight. For ages 6 and older.

Southern Rhode Island 4-H Fair - Richmond, RI

Audubon Insect Investigation for Families - Bristol, RI

Join an Audubon naturalist to look for bugs. Try using a net to comb a meadow, catching grasshoppers, milkweed bugs, butterflies and more. Observe insects in bug boxes, use magnifying glasses and field guides to identify them. Wear sturdy shoes, long pants, hats, and wear sunscreen. Adults must accompany children. Ages: 4 and older.

Blackstone River Twilight Cruise Aboard the Explorer - Central Falls, RI

Join an Audubon naturalist for a relaxing evening cruise along the historic Blackstone River. Look out over the Valley Falls wilderness area for birds and other wildlife. The Explorer is a covered boat and will go out rain or shine. There is on-site parking at the dock.

Riverdance 2017 U.S. Tour - Providence, RI

Visitors Day 2017 at Swiss Village Farm - Newport, RI

Swiss Village Farm in Newport studies and preserves genetic material of rare-breed and heritage livestock and plants. It opens its doors once a year to the public to visit. Come enjoy a day of fascinating information and fun activities on this 35-acre property. Take self-guided tours; look at facilities and meet the veterinary staff; attend cryogenics and sheep shearing demonstrations; shop for farm products and heritage breed meat. Julians Omnibus, food truck serving heritage breed burgers and munchies, will be onsite. Parking will be at Fort Adams State Park and transportation will be provided by trolley. Charlestown Memorial Day Parade and Observances - Charlestown, RI

May 28, 2017 - May 28, 2017 Old Post Road (Route 1A) and Ninigret Park Pavilion Charlestown, RI
The parade will step off at 1 p.m. from Ridgewood Drive and follow Old Post Road (Route 1A) south to King Tom Drive. Eight bands and 20 youth, military and community organizations will march. Memorial Observances will be conducted at Cross Mills Baptist Church cemetery and at Cold Brook and after the parade at Charlestown Naval Airfield Memorial at Ninigret Park. Block Island Music Festival 2017 - New Shoreham (Block Island), RI

This grassroots festival is a six-day musical gumbo where guests cans sample music by talented, “undiscovered” artists in the Northeast. Each day begins at 5 p.m. outdoors on the Sunshine Stage. Four sets of music performed by solo artists and small acoustic ensembles provide the perfect ending to a day at the beach. For guests age 21 and older. Children will be admitted between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. only with parents. The music fest barbecue pit will provide free food from 5 p.m. until supplies run out.
