See crafts people demonstrate traditional and contemporary fiber arts; purchase your own textile supplies, equipment, and gifts to take home; watch the hand shearing of sheep, learn a new (old) skill in one of our workshops, and help with 18th century textile and farm work.

Gaspee Days Arts and Crafts Festival 2016 - Warwick, RI

The annual festival hosts 150-200 craft exhibitors, and attracts 50,000 guests! It also features a professional food court, free family music and entertainment! Free admission. All proceeds benefit the Gaspee Days Parade.

Blithewold’s The Gateway to Spring - Bristol, RI

This month-long event celebrates the 50,000 daffodils that this 33-acre seaside estate every April and includes several fun-filled events for the whole family.
Afternoon Tea in the Dining Room. Guests are invited to enjoy a relaxing, luxurious afternoon tea in turn-of-the-century style with scones, finger sandwiches, quiche, smoked salmon pate, and various sweets. Seatings are by reservation only and 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. April 5- May 13.
Daffodils at Dusk. Live jazz and complimentary wine tasting for adults and a scavenger hunt for kids. The event is free with regular mansion admission. Fridays, 6-8 p.m. April 15- May 6.
Gateway to Spring Botanical Exhibition. The exhibit will feature fresh, locally-sourced flowers and plants arranged by talented designers across the region, inspired by the ephemeral quality of spring. The compositions will be placed throughout the Mansion. April 23-29.

The Festival will feature over a dozen homes and gardens along with guided tours of the neighborhood.

Waterscapes: Islamic Architecture and Art from Doris Duke's Shangri La is on view at Rough Point, the Doris Duke home, this season. Duke's love of the water and Islamic art and architecture came together spectacularly at Shangri La, her exotic ocean front estate in Honolulu. The Waterscapes exhibit explores the theme of water through objects and photographs of the property and other historic sites that inspired its many fountains, pools, and cascades. The exhibit is on display through November 6, 2016.
Time: Tuesday-Sunday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Last tour on Saturday is 2 p.m.

Rhode Island Civic Chorale & Orchestra Performs Britten's Cantata Misericordium and Simple Symphony, and Gabriel Fauré's beloved Requiem. Cantata Misericordium was composed for and first performed on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Red Cross, September 1, 1963, and tells the story, in Latin, of the Good Samaritan.
