Rhode Island National Guard Air Show - North Kingstown, RI

The air show offers the finest aerial and static displays along with activities for people of all ages. The show will feature the USN Blue Angels. There will be shuttle service to a from the offsite parking lots all day. In the event of rain some flying demonstrations may be delayed or postponed, but the show will proceed as scheduled with some modifications. Lawn chairs, camp chairs, and blankets are allowed. 401- 295-5020
Time: Gates open at 9 a.m. and flying starts at 10 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.
Admission: Admission and parking are free. A voluntary donation will support Hasbro Children's Hospital.

This family collection of intricate metal miniatures, quietly handcrafted over 30 years by machinist Abraham Megerdichian, will be on display. The son of Armenian immigrants, Megerdichian worked most of his life as a machinist, using his lunch breaks to craft household items out of copper, aluminum, brass, and stainless steel. A reception and talk by Abraham’s son, Robert Megerdichian, will take place on May 27.

Join Audubon and witness bird banding, where experts capture, band, measure and release songbirds in order to record their movements. Birds will be gently removed from tall “mist nets” set in the shrubby habitats on the grounds of the Environmental Education Center. The techniques of identifying, measuring, weighing, and banding the birds will be demonstrated before they are released. The migratory habits and life history of each captured species will be discussed. Participants are encouraged to bring a camera and binoculars.
