The Newport Antiques Show is one of the nation’s premier antiques venues presenting a wide selection of important Americana antiques. Major dealers present paintings, furniture, folk art, jewelry, and fine and decorative arts. The show’s preview party will take place July 27. General admission tickets can be purchased at the door.

You don’t need to be an expert on sailing to enjoy the magnificent views and action of racing sailboats circling Block Island during Storm Trysail Race Week. The regatta was modeled on the British Cowes Week, and designed to emphasize both sailboat racing and shore side fun – “a fun family event with great racing.” Races are held daily, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and views are glorious from Mohegan Bluffs during the Around the Island Race.

Audubon Insect Investigation for Families - Bristol, RI

Join an Audubon naturalist to look for bugs. Try using a net to comb a meadow, catching grasshoppers, milkweed bugs, butterflies and more. Beavertail Lighthouse Tower Climb - Jamestown, RI

Bring your family to wander the grounds, climb the lighthouse tower, and visit the museum. Climbers to the tower must be at least four feet tall. In addition to the 49 steps of the spiral staircase, a 7-foot ladder requiring both hands must be scaled to reach the observation catwalk. Neither small children nor pets may be carried. Openings are weather dependent; if uncertain, call 401-423-3270.

Blues on the Block 2017 - Block Island, RI

More music to make mid-week special! Mid-summer Wednesdays mean Blues on the Block, when all you have to do is bring a beach chair or blanket and listen to free Blues at the beach. Lawn and Grandstand are available on a first-come-first-serve basis on game day.
