Guided Adventures in Rhode Island

A guided tour with an expert is chance to go deep into a subject

Whether you are brand-new to an outdoor experience you want to try, or whether you want to range deeply into familiar territory, a guided tour with a local expert can be a great option during your Rhode Island vacation. Saltwater fishing guides can take you well out into the Atlantic or onto Narragansett Bay for a great and possibly new adventure in sport fishing. Don’t let the lack of an ocean-going fishing vessel and all the gear in your backyard constrain you: professional guides make it their mission to take you to the heart of the sport.

Got mansions? Newport, RI does. Guided tours of the famous historic mansions built by industrialists of the Gilded Age are great fun. You can gape at magnificent houses and gardens, and also learn plenty about the owners, the architects and styles, and even about the downstairs world of servants of that time. Don’t worry: questions are welcome. Tour guides love to pass on the lore – from fishing reels to Gothic arches -- that they know intimately.
