The ocean lies at the heart of the Weekapaug Inn. Constructed in 1899, the original inn was damaged during the Hurricane of 1938. The current building was built in 1939 and looks out over Quanochontaug Pond (a tidal inlet) to the Atlantic Ocean. Weekapaug Beach is two miles of private sand and sea. The Bathhouse there, boasts a concession counter, fresh beach towels, chairs and umbrellas. Inn guests can arrive before check-in time and hang out on the beach, or extend a stay by using the Bathhouse and beach after check out. The inn’s boat house provides paddle boards, kayaks, rowboats, and several different kinds of sailboats, the use of which are free to inn guests.
