Good interstate and state highways and local roads can easily get you to all corners of the Ocean State on your vacation.

Driving Routes to Providence

The Providence area is extremely easy to reach by car. No matter from which direction you are coming, Providence is bisected by I-95 and I-195. Here are some important exits to be aware of:

Downtown Providence is at Exits 1A and 1C off I-195 West, and 37A/B off I-95.

T.F. Green Airport in Warwick is off exit 29 on I-95.

The shopping malls in Warwick are at Exit 28A off I-95 North, 28C off I-95 South, and Exits 1A/B off I-295.
Driving Routes to Blackstone Valley

To reach Woonsocket, the heart of the Blackstone Valley, take I-295 (reachable from I-95N in Warwick or I-95S in Attleboro, MA) to RI Route 146. Follow signs to Woonsocket and the Blackstone Valley.
Driving Routes to Newport

From Connecticut, New York, south and west, take Route I-95 North into Rhode Island to Exit 3A (Route 138). Proceed on Route 138 East into Jamestown, and over the Jamestown Bridge. Continue on Route 138, which will take you over the Newport Bridge. (toll charged.) On the other side of the bridge, take the first exit and make a right turn at the light at the bottom of the ramp (Farewell Street).

Alternate Route: Take I-95 North to Exit 8A and to Route 2 South. Coming off exit ramp move to left and take left turn at the lights onto Route 401. At second light turn right onto entrance ramp for Route 4 South. Take to exit for Route 138 East and follow across bridges to Newport.

From the Boston metro area, take Route 24 south to Route 114. Continue on Route 114 South, which leads straight into downtown Newport. Follow signs to public parking.

Alternate Route: Take I-95 South to Exit 8, on the left, onto Route 4 South. Take to exit for Route 138 East and follow across bridges to Newport.
