Rhode Island International Film Festival 2018

Newport Flower Show 2018

This year’s theme is "Cottages – Small and Smart.” The front lawn of Rosecliff will be transformed into a Tiny House Village, complete with four tiny homes and their adjacent sustainable gardens. WaterFire centers around a series of nearly 100 bonfires that blaze just above the surface of the three rivers that pass through the middle of downtown Providence. The string of fires illuminates nearly two-thirds of a mile of urban public spaces and parks, as residents and visitors gather to stroll along the river, listening to music and watching performances.

Twilight Walk & Night Sky Viewing at Hodge Preserve

The Hodge Preserve is a 25-acre field that slopes to Middle Pond and West Beach. Naturalist Kim Gaffett will lead walks through the meadow and teach guests about Block Island’s environment and eco-systems, followed by a break for stargazing at the night sky. Bring a flashlight, insect repellent, and blanket or beach chair and meet in the Preserve’s small parking lot along Corn Neck Road. Night sky viewing dates: June 30, August 3, and August 24.
