Run of the Mill Gallery Exhibit – Central Falls RI

Get ready to explore New England's "forgotten" places. Run of the Mill and the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council are putting together a gallery exhibit you don’t want to miss. Discover local history through vibrant metal prints of New England’s abandoned places. Get the inside scoop on these forgotten relics and sleeping giants. There will be refreshments as well.

Blithewold Homeschool Days – Bristol RI

Blithewold Mansion, Gardens and Arboretum hosts a fun and educational Homeschool Day on the last Tuesday of each month from September through May. The themes for each month are as follows: September 27, games; October 25, trees; November 29, nature; December 27, A Life in Service; January 31, the Arts & Crafts Movement; February 28, art; March 28, wildlife and ecosystems; April 25, flowers; May 30, pollinators. Guided tours of the Mansion and Grounds will be available at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.  and are limited to 20 people including children.

SpringFest 2022 Enjoy three days of fun-filled entertainment, including amusement park rides, a food truck rodeo, crafts, shopping, a beer and wine garden, live music, and more. Daffodil Days – Newport RI

There are 1.2 million daffodils planted in and around Newport. During the month of April, celebrate these blossoms and the arrival of springtime with a variety of fun activities, including:
  • Daffy Dog Paw-rade– April 1: Dress your dog in “dandy duds” and come compete for “daffiest-dressed” dog(s) and human(s) as you march from Bannister’s Wharf to Queen Anne’s Square to show off your fit. 12:15 p.m.
  • Sip and Shop– April 14: Explore historic Bellevue Avenue and stop by JMcLaughlin to shop for clothes and snack on daffodil cookies, wine, Pellegrino, and more treats. 9:30 a.m - 5:30 p.m.
  • Driving Miss Daffodil– April 23: Enjoy the Audrain Automobile Museum’s decorated car parade. Cruise through the city and compete for best-dressed vehicle. 8 a.m.

Third Annual Pomham Rocks Lighthouse Run – Riverside RI

The Pomham Rocks Lighthouse Run starts at Rose Larisa Park. The 5K walk and run (8:30-9:45 a.m.) winds through scenic neighborhoods and the 10K run (8-10 a.m.) passes by the lighthouse. All ages are welcome, as are both novice and experienced runners and walkers.

Jane’s Walk – Providence RI

Inspired by urban activist Jane Jacobs, Jane’s Walks are held in over 200 cities to bring the community together and help people explore pockets of historical or themed fun in their neighborhoods. Jane’s Walk Providence will walk Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and will cover topics/locales including the RISD campus, Providence’s LGBTQ history, the Jewelry District, navigating the city as a visually impaired person, and more.

Derby Day Party at Linden Place – Bristol RI

On May 6, the fifth-annual Derby Day Party at Linden Place Mansion will run neck and neck with the celebrations at Churchill Downs. Patrons may choose to attend the full event, which includes watching the Derby on the big screen, dinner and a live auction, or they may join the festivities at Derby Night, the after party immediately following with a live band under the big tent.

Irish Heritage Month – Newport RI

Celebrate the 46th annual Newport Irish Heritage Month, coordinated by the Museum of Newport Irish History. Rather than a singular event, the Museum of Newport Irish History has rounded-up all of the Irish and St. Patrick’s Day-themed happenings around Newport in the month of March.   • Green Eggs & Ham Brunch – February 26: Enjoy yummy food and raise money for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, happening later in the month. Hibernian Hall, 2 Wellington Avenue; 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.; adults, $10 and kids, $5.
  • Historic Irish Cemetery Tour – March 5 and 9: Tour the historic Saint Joseph Cemetery, known locally as the Barney Street Cemetery, a Catholic burial ground that serves as the resting place for many Irish Americans. 12:30 p.m.
  • St. Patrick’s Day Parade – March 11: The 67th annual parade will last approximately two hours and takes place rain or shine. Newport City Hall, Broadway; 11 a.m. li>
  • Dancing at the Forty Steps – March 26: Celebrate the end of Irish Heritage Month by learning the dances popular among Irish Americans in the 19th and 20th centuries. Cliff Walk, east end of Narragansett Avenue; 3 p.m.
