Every year, on the Fourth of July, the South County Museum hatches the latest Rhode Island Red chick babies. They will eventually join the heritage flock, but on this day, visitors can see them hatch from their shells, learn about the breed, and even hold a newborn chick.

After the games, listen to a reading of the Declaration of Independence, learn about the origins of our flag, and hear why President George Washington was so popular among early Americans. Catch us in Bristol’s 4th of July Parade! Please note that Coggeshall Farm Museum will be CLOSED on July 4, 2022. Independence celebrations run on July 2nd and 3rd.
