Rhode Island - Covered Bridges

Swamp Meadow Covered Bridge
Central Pike
Foster, ID  02825  Click to view map

Location: Take State Route 94 N one miles from junction with Killingly Road in Foster Center; turn east on Central Pike to the bridge

Rhode Island's only covered bridge on a public road, this 40-foot-long replica of an early 19th-century wooden bridge crosses Hemlock Brook north of Foster Center. It was completed in 1994 by an all volunteer crew and built with donated lumber cut from local forests.
