Fourth of July Events
Giant parade in Bristol is among the July 4th celebrations in Rhode Island
Fireworks and parades are happening all across the Ocean State on the Fourth of July, with the annual Bristol parade looming as the big enchilada of all Fourth of July parades. People who love the thrilling music of drums and bugles should mark their calendars for the evening of July 3, when Bristol also hosts its annual Drum & Bugle Corps Competition, featuring top musicians from the United States and Canada. Not to be outdone, Chepachet hosts its quirky and very individualistic Ancient and Horribles Parade, with local people performing in satirical spoofs. Baseball is every bit as American as parades and fireworks, so the Paw Sox are hosting fireworks above McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket following games on July 2 and 3. Notice that some events take place on July 3 through 5.
