The Newport International Boat Show (NIBS), one of the largest and most prestigious boat shows in the country, spans over fifteen acres with 6 connecting show sites within historic downtown Newport, Rhode Island. Walk the docks and view a spectacular display of shiny new sailboats and powerboats, some making their first-ever debut in the United States. On the land side, you’ll find hundreds of marine products, services and accessories to enhance the boating lifestyle. Also on deck are educational seminars, in-water boating courses and daily giveaways. Set amongst grand coastal scenery, national historic sites, trendy boutiques and world-class restaurants, it’s easy to pair your passion for boating with the experience of Newport and the beauty of fall in New England.

Given it’s rich motoring history, Newport is the premiere destination for a Concours & Motor Week. Beautiful, historic mansions and the seemingly endless Atlantic Ocean provide the most elegant of backdrops. Audrain’s Newport Concours & Motor Week will be a celebration of the automobile, uniting enthusiasts from around the world. Newport’s extensive automotive history dates back as early as the Gilded Age. The first American car race, the Vanderbilt Cup, took place in this historic area. Witness over 150 cars from various decades across various classes all competing for the coveted Best of Show trophy. Concession stands will be available for food and drink. VIP admission gives access starting at 6:30 am with Coffee at the Concours and continues throughout the day with access to the VIP tent with food and drink served all day.

The annual running of The Mark Palumbo Memorial University Orthopedics 5K is once again benefitting The Tomorrow Fund at Hasbro Children's Hospital. The event is named in honor of Dr. Mark Palumbo, a renowned University Orthopedics spine surgeon who passed away in 2019. In addition to being a highly regarded doctor, he was also extremely active in the community. The Palumbo family has supported The Tomorrow Fund and held active roles with the Providence, RI-based charity for many years.

The Great Lawn has been the scene of family clambakes for more than a century! Step back in time, play lawn games, and stroll the Gardens and Grounds. Feast on a traditional Rhode Island clambake while you relax and enjoy the sunset, as have generations of Blithewold guests. McGrath’s Clam Bakes will be providing the Bake under the Tent. Soft drinks are included. A cash bar will also available. McGrath’s buffet menu includes both meat and seafood that have been cooked together. There are no substitutions for guests that have severe allergies, or multiple dietary restrictions (vegetarian/vegan). PVDFest is back! The 51st annual Norman Bird Sanctuary's old-fashioned Harvest Fair will once again usher in Autumn in 2025. The fair offers something for everyone including sack races, hay rides, mud pit, tug-of-war and fair games with prizes. More than 70 talented crafters and artisans will feature beautifully crafted items, while local food and beer vendors will offer an array of decadent selections. Enjoy live animal presentations by the Norman Bird Sanctuary staff and explore the grounds as an impressive line up of musicians create the perfect atmosphere for an autumn afternoon of family fun.

Historic Bowen’s Wharf in downtown Newport, RI, will host the 34th annual Bowen’s Wharf Seafood Festival, on October 18th and 19th, 2025. Named one of the “10 Fabulous Fall Festivals on the Coast,” by Coastal Living Magazine, this event is an open invitation for all to come back to the waterfront after the rush of the summer season!

Special Screening — The Farmer & the Shark with Director John Campopiano

Dive into a fascinating piece of film history as we present a special screening of the new documentary The Farmer & the Shark, followed by a live Q&A with director John Campopiano. This event is part of UNITED’s Summer of the Shark, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Jaws.

The documentary spotlights the extraordinary life of Martha’s Vineyard legend Craig Kingsbury — the man whose personality and ocean wisdom inspired Robert Shaw’s unforgettable portrayal of Quint in Steven Spielberg’s classic. Along the way, you’ll meet the island locals whose ingenuity and maritime expertise helped turn Jaws from a troubled production into the gold standard of the summer blockbuster.

Presented in partnership with the Living Sharks Museum, this screening offers a fresh, behind-the-scenes perspective on a cinematic legend — just in time for the 50th anniversary celebration.

The annual Newport Mansions Wine and Food Festival welcomes all to a culinary weekend of education, tastings, and industry conversation. Meet with regional vendors, and taste the flavors of Newport and The Classic Coast. The 2024 Newport Mansions Wine and Food Festival in Newport welcomed 21 expert-led seminars, a celebration of local chefs, a Sunday Jazz brunch at Rosecliff and a conversation with world-renowned French Chef Jacques Pépin and Claudine Pépin. Wednesday nights at Blithewold are the perfect way to enjoy summer with friends and family! Guests are encouraged to bring picnic dinners and chairs or blankets. We have 33 acres of gardens and grounds, including a 10-acre lawn, where you can enjoy the music and gorgeous views over the bay. Preregistration is required! Walk-ins will not be accepted. The day before the concert you will receive a printout. Please print it and place it in the windshield of your car. It will be checked in when you arrive. Four actors attempt to tell the harrowing true story of Janusz Korczak—a Jewish doctor who chose to remain with the orphaned children in his care, even as it meant facing death in the Holocaust. But how can anyone truly step into the minds of the victims—or the villains?

Written in 1957 by Erwin Sylvanus and translated by George E. Wellwarth, this powerful metatheatrical drama asks: “What’s it to you what happened in Poland in 1940 and 1942?” In 2025, confronting these truths through art feels more urgent than ever.
